What is often not included is where homeowners get surprised. Patching drywall from a larger old thermostat, painting, running a new cable through finished walls, adding a common wire, replacing an equipment interface module, correcting bad splices behind the wall, or troubleshooting why the air handler is not sending 24-volt power may be extra. Wi-Fi setup beyond a basic phone app connection can also be outside the base install.
